This page summarises the IGRAC's main activities related to internationally shared groundwaters (download a flyer). These activities are addressed in more detail at the ISARM (International Shared Aquifer Resource Management) portal.
- IGRAC is a member of the ISARM core group and participates in the development of a new strategic plan
- Further, we facilitate and maintain the ISARM Portal (www.isarm.org)
-
We assist the UN ILC in the development of international law on groundwater
-
We developed a map showing the Transboundary Aquifers of the World, as known in 2009 and more recently as known in 2012
-
Together with several other UNESCO partners, IGRAC is developing ISARM transboundary aquifers course material
-
In the last three years we carried out a GEF IW-LEARN project on Lessons Learned from the GEF transboundary aquifer projects
-
IGRAC contributes to all ISARM Regional Activities in the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia. Together with OAS (Organisation of American States) and UNESCO, IGRAC for example developed an Atlas of Transboundary Aquifers of the Americas.
