IV International Symposium on Transboundary Waters Management, 15th - 18th October 2008, Thessaloniki, Greece
The UNESCO Chair INWEB together with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, UNESCO IHP, SAHRA and IGRAC is organising the fourth International Symposium on Transboundary Waters Management, from 15th - 18th October 2008 in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. This is the follow-up to the III TWM symposium held in 2006 in Ciudad-Real, Spain.
Important: In response to numerous requests the deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to 15th June 2008. You can submit the abstract on-line via the conference site www.inweb.gr/twm4
The aims of the Symposium are:
- To assess the state of the art and the progress recently made in the sustainable management of transboundary waters by different disciplines such as law, socio-economics and water science;
- To review current major international programmes concerned with the assessment and management of transboundary water resources; and
- To promote interdisciplinary approaches for integrated transboundary water resources management.
Side-event: UNESCO pilot course on Transboundary Groundwater Management (13-14 October)
