IGRAC Researcher Nienke Ansems has been invitated to participate in the initial planning meeting on WMO Global Hydrological Status and Outlook System (HydroSOS) to be held in Entebbe, Uganda from 26 to 28 September 2017.
This HydroSOS initiative, led by the Commission for Hydrology, is intending to provide an operational WMO system capable of assessing the current hydrological status and its likely near-future outlook for all areas of the globe.
Approximately 50 participants will join the meeting, including some regional and national hydrological advisers, international experts, stakeholder from pilot river basins, and members of the Commission for Hydrology's Advisory Working Group. Having been instrumental in (further) developing IGRAC's Global Groundwater Information System (GGIS) and Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN) portal. Ansems can share her experience during this initial planning meeting in Uganda.
