EC

The European Commission (EC) is the EU's executive body. It represents the interests of the European Union as a whole (not the interests of individual countries).

IGRAC and EC

IGRAC carried out a project on Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in the transboundary Merti Aquifer, shared between Kenya and Somalia. The project was commissioned by IGAD Inland Water Resources Management Programme (IGAD-INWRMP), which a programme funded by the European Commission (EC).

In addition, IGRAC is currently involved in the another EC funded project: FREEWAT. This project aims at promoting water resource management by simplifying the application of the Water Framework Directive and other EU water related Directives.
