On 19 March 2023, the first ever World Water Film festival will take place at the Forum of Columbia University. This full-day event, which is part of the New York Water Week, will showcase a variety of 20 short and feature films made by water advocates from around the world, featuring workshops, guest speakers, and a 4-hour “Women in Water Energy & Film” summit. However, the festival also offers several alternatives for those who will not be able to attend the in-person event.

How to participate

  1. Watch party | On Sunday 19 March 2023, it is possible to host an in-person or online watch party, using the live stream of the NYC event. The live stream will broadcast the full event 10:30 - 19:00 EST.
  2. Online events | Through the online platform Eventive, it is possible to select content as you wish, with 130 films to choose from. There is a 'watch party' feature whereby you can invite people to tune in to your curated run of show with you, and will have the opportunity to then moderate your own localised panel discussion around that viewing. These online event option is available from 19 to 26 March.
  3. Local festival | It is also possible to become an official affiliate and host your own local WWFF. Rent a theatre or university auditorium and bring together local experts and advocates to further awareness and advocacy in your own community.
