GEF International Waters conference in Cape Town

IGRAC contribution to GEF IW conference, Cape Town, South Africa from July 31 - August 3, 2007. The Global Environment Facility (GEF) and its Implementing Agencies (UNDP, UNEP, and the World Bank) hosted the Fourth Biennial International Waters (IW) Conference for approximately 350 participants from more than 100 countries. Prior the conference IGRAC organised and hosted a GEF Groundwater Forum. The forum was moderated by UNESCO.

In Cape Town - together with colleagues from UNESCO - IGRAC organised a groundwater management session and an exhibit booth. Further on, IGRAC hold a so-called Participant Designed Workshop on INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OF INTERNATIONALLY-SHARED GROUNDWATER RESOURCES. The workshop was carried out as a part of UNESCO-ISARM programme. As a participant in the GEF IW LEARN project IGRAC also produced an analysed of the large GEF groundwater projects.
