Reporting on groundwater resources under the SDGs in Southern Africa

On 16-18 November, the 5th SADC Groundwater Conference will be held in Windhoek, Namibia. During this conference, IGRAC is hosting a session about reporting on groundwater resources under SDG-6 (especially 6.3.2, 6.4.2, 6.5.2 and 6.6.1) in SADC member states. The conference is hybrid, and registration is still open. Young professionals can register for free.

The special session on Sustainable Development Goal 6 reporting in Southern Africa, organized by IGRAC, will be held on Wednesday 16 November from 14:00 till 15:30 hrs. During this session, Arnaud Sterckx will present on the state of reporting on groundwater resources availability and quality (6.3.2, 6.4.2 and 6.6.1) and Christina Fraser on the state of reporting on cooperation in transboundary aquifers (6.5.2).

The SADC Groundwater Conference is held annually, with the primary objective of providing a platform for the advancement of knowledge sharing on sustainable management of groundwater at national and transboundary levels across SADC Members States. SADC-GMI will host this 5th edition at Windhoek Country Club Resort in Windhoek, Namibia.
