One new feature in your Drupal 8 CMS is Paragraphs. It is currently only available for the News content type, so you can get a feel for it, before deciding to roll out across other content types. Furthermore, these Paragraphs can be expanded to provide a further suite of options to design pages with.
- If you plan on using paragraphs you can ignore the body field and leave it empty.
- Above the body field there is a Paragraphs block with two paragraph types listed and an ellipsis...
- Click on the ellipsis to view all the available paragraph types
- Choose the type of paragraph you would like to add from
- Image left, text right (places an image on the left hand side of the page with a column of text on the right)
- Text left, image right (places an image on the right hand side of the page with a column of text on the left)
- Left hand text (places a column of text on the left of the page with a blank space on the right)
- Right hand text (places a column of text on the right of the page with a blank space on the left)
- Side by Side Images (places two images side by side)
- Row of three images
- Row of four images
- Full width image (places an image which will be it's maximum size up to the width of the page)
- Full width text (you can embed iframes of video and xternal image galleries in here too)
- Video (this will allow you to simply post a Youtube URL rather than an iframe)
- Once you have added your paragraph the form will update to add the fields requested.
- Fill in the fields and then you can add a second paragraph. The next paragraph can be added at the top, bottom or in between other paragraphs.
- Once you have built your page Click save.
