By coordinating the World Water Day with the theme ‘Groundwater, making the invisible visible’ and organizing the UN-Water Summit on Groundwater, 2022 was the year in which IGRAC has pushed for a more prominent role for groundwater on the political agendas.
However, also in 2023, we are committed to continue to make the invisible visible. One of IGRAC’s objectives is to engage and inspire our audience by sharing key information about groundwater. Not only on a global level, like IGRAC’s flagship product ‘The Transboundary Aquifers of the World Map‘, but also with stories on the ground.
To do so, media coverage is of crucial importance and that is why IGRAC is setting up the Groundwater Correspondents Network. In this volunteer programme, IGRAC will team up with groundwater enthusiasts who have local stories that deserve to have a global audience.
