In 2022, Elisabeth Lictevout was appointed as new Director of IGRAC. She is a Hydrogeologist with a PhD in Water Sciences, an MSc in Sustainable Management and Protection of Water Resources, and over 26 years of worldwide experience as a consultant, project manager, researcher and research & development center director. "I hope to enjoy the challenging position of managing successfully a global center, with a wonderful professional team and excellent partners and to further push IGRAC and groundwater forward, fulfilling outstandingly IGRAC mission."

Background and Areas of Expertise

Elisabeth has a PhD in Water Sciences from the University of Montpellier, France, and a Master's Degree in Sustainable Management and Protection of Water Resources from the University of Braunschweig, Germany.

Work Experience

Since 2018, co-founder and director of Carpe Science. In 2016 and 2017, associate professor of the Faculty of Forestry Sciences of the Universidad de Concepción (Chile). Since 2016, water quality consultant for the Joint Monitoring Program (UNICEF/WHO). From 2011 to 2015, director of the CIDERH (water resources research and development centre), North of Chile. From 2005 to 2008, regional WASH expert for ECHO (European Commission Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid) for Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. Previously (1998-2005), Action Against Hunger as WASH headquarter coordinator and field project manager in Latin America and Southeast Asia. In 1994-1998, at a consultancy firm in France.
