Meeting on SDG 6.5.2 in Budapest, Hungary

On 16 and 17 January 2018, the Government of Hungary will host a technical meeting on the template for reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.2 and under the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention). IGRAC Director Neno Kukuric is one of the experts invited to participate in this meeting. 

The meeting will discuss possible revisions and clarifications to both the section of the template on reporting on indicator 6.5.2 and the relevant methodology, and the sections of the template for reporting under the Water Convention. The main objective of the technical meeting is to draw lessons from the first reporting exercise in order to improve the template for future reporting.

About SDG indicator 6.5.2 

SDG 6.5.2 focuses on 'Proportion of transboundary basin area with an operational arrangement for water cooperation' and country data related to this indicator is compiled by UNECE and UNESCO. Indicator 6.5.2 is part of target 6.5 (Transboundary cooperation) and the overarching Sustainable Development Goal 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation.
