Groundwater Correspondent - Niger

Niger correspondent Issoufou Boukari holds a BSc in geosciences and environment, an MSc in hydrogeology and PhD, also in hydrogeology. He obtained all these degrees at the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey in his home country Niger. Besides hydrogeology, his main area of expertise is hydrogeophysics.
Why did you decide to join the Groundwater Correspondents Network?
"I joined the network because I would like to share my research experiences and lessons learned on groundwater in the Sahel with the rest of the world."
Which topics would you like to cover during your period as correspondent?
"The two main topics that I would like to cover during my period as Niger correspondent are:
- The effects of climate change on groundwater, and
- Transboundary surface water/groundwater resources"
