World Water Development Report 2017 - Wastewater, the untapped resource

The 2017 edition of the World Water Development Report focuses on 'Wastewater' and seeks to inform decision-makers, inside and outside the water community, about the importance of managing wastewater as an undervalued and sustainable source of water, energy, nutrients and toher recoverable by-products, rather than something to be disposed of or a nuisance to be ignored.

IGRAC contributed to Chapter 7, about Agriculture and its effects on (ground)water quality. The chapter reviews the main pollutants from agriculture, its associated impacts, and offers some key pollution mitigation options. In addition, the chapter also discusses how agriculture can be a beneficial user of wastewater, and how the practice can become safe.
